biography

In 1978, David Eulitt took a trip from Kansas City to California, armed with his first camera, a Polaroid Pronto B (a manual focusing instant camera) and was hooked at age 13 on the passion of photography.
After graduating in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Eulitt moved to California for his first photojournalism job at the San Bernardino (CA) Sun from 1989-1992.
After four years in California, Eulitt moved to Topeka, Kansas to work for ten years at the Capital-Journal newspaper, a paper filled with photojournalism history. At the Capital-Journal, Eulitt won the 1993 Robert F. Kennedy award for his coverage of the 1992 Paralympic Games in Barcelona, Spain, a self-financed project. Eulitt also won the 1995 NPPA Region 7 Photographer of the Year for his year-long portfolio.
In 2002, Eulitt moved back to his home city of Kansas City to work at the Kansas City Star, where he has covered the Kansas City Chiefs since 2004, along with two Summer Olympic Games in Athens and Beijing.
