Sgt. The family of five received a three-day supply of emergency food from Cross-Lines, an agency that relies on donations.
   
A group of illegal immigrants, shackled at the wrists and ankles, were searched before boarding a charter flight at Kansas City International Airport, run by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Department. The detainees are flown to Louisiana, Texas or Arizona, where they are returned to or flown to the detainees countries of origin.
     
  
Mykel Bryant , 8 was comforted by his mother, Joyce Bryant, after a school bus accident was involved in an accident with a passenger truck in Kansas City, Mo. Mykel's sister was taken to a local hospital with injuries.

Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic 2008 presidential nominee, took a stroll in downtown Independence, MO and stopped to chat with Lilly and Lee Schismenos, who lived across the street from the Truman Home. Obama took a tour of the home after his morning speech a few blocks away.
